Well it has been quite a summer for The Dennis Walters Golf Show!

Well it has been quite a summer for The Dennis Walters Golf Show.  We left our home in Jupiter, Florida on April 15 and as I write this on September 18 we are still a week away from getting home.

It has been a summer filled with many highlights, the most exciting our trip to St. Andrews Scotland and the UK. We have had about 60 of our shows during this time and it has allowed us to deliver our program of Golf Lessons and Life Lessons to audiences in 33 states in addition to our international audiences. Mr. Bucky has been dazzling everyone with his uncanny ability to answer questions by barking out the answers, my golf swing is working better than ever and my assistant Tom Kolend has made a huge contribution to the show by doing the countless number of things he does so well to keep the tour running smoothly.

A little about our trip to the home of golf, St Andrews

It truly was the trip of a lifetime and I wanted to thank The PGA of America and The R&A (The Royal & Ancient Golf Club, which is the governing body similar to the PGA) for making this dream come true. I have wanted to visit St Andrews ever since I was a boy and this trip far exceeded my hopes and dreams. Everything went well from the time we boarded the plane until the time we returned.

The hospitality was fantastic, the weather was perfect and the audiences responded so well to my golf shots and message, which reenforced my belief that I do have a universal message and by telling my story I can encourage others in all parts of the world to reach for their dreams, strive for excellence and do something they didn't think they could.

We also did a show for the First Tee Chapter in Manchester England. As Narional Ambassador for The First Tee, it was important to me to visit a chapter outside The USA and I found the same wonderful way of teaching Life Lessons through Golf to be a great success in the same manner it is here at home. We were also able to meet and work with The UK divisions of a couple of our sponsors which was very nice. Jelly Belly UK supplied the world's BEST jelly beans to our audiences and Yamaha UK made it possible for me to do the shows by suppling a beautiful golf cart for me in both places. The kids also loved getting the Titleist Pro-V ones with Bucky's picture on them.

I also did something I very rarely do these days, I played 18 holes of golf. I could not let myself go all the way to St Andrews and not do that and I played extremely well. I made 2 birdies and a bunch of pars what a wonderful day it was. We were also joined on the trip by another of our sponsors, Peter Cancro founder of Jersey Mike's Subs, the BEST subs you' ll ever have, his brother John and their friend Tom Spiegel joined us for our round on The Old Course and for comraderie all during the trip.

Having great friends along made this "Bucket List" trip even better. We now have an unusually busy fall to complete and our next two stops should give me more exciting news to report.

Where we're off to next...

We are performing at The National Special Olympics Games in Port St Lucie, Fl and we leave the next day for a show in Las Vegas with Justin Timberlake at his tournament on THE PGA TOUR.

By for now!

We did it!! 34 Years, 3,000 shows ... and finally ... Alaska!!

Well, we finally made it to Alaska for a show!!! After 34 years and almost 3,000 performances and 49 states the circle is complete!

We performed for The First Tee of Alaska and had a GREAT time!! Thanks to Billy Bomar of The First Tee for all the nice things he did for us. What a beautiful place as you can see by some of the pictures. As a big fan of "Deadliest Catch," we had King Crab every meal, visited a game preserve where we saw moose, elk, and a lot of animals native to Alaska.

We also went for a seaplane ride over Anchorage, which was awesome.

Oh by the way did I mention we had a great show, a large crowd and a beautiful day at The Anchorage GC. Mr. Bucky was on his game and enjoyed the cool weather. My shots were right on and Tom did his usual great work. Everyone who has the chance should visit this wonderful place.

On the way to Alaska we had a show in LA for The First Tee and this was another great Jersey Mikes' Show. About 300 folks came out including basketball Hall of Famer Jerry West.

We then flew to Salt Lake City for a PGA of America Play Golf America Day that was devoted to growing the game for people with disabilities. Sioux Falls SD was our next stop and thanks to Coralee Jorgensen the professional at Westward Ho CC. We had a very successful visit and the hospitality was terrific. On to Nashville for another Jersey Mike's show. Jersey Mike's is a long time sponsor and a company that is devoted to helping the communities where they do business. We have teamed up with The First Tee chapters in 12 cities to deliver our positive message and the BEST sub these youngsters will have. It has been a very rewarding program and as always thanks to Peter Cancro, founder of Jersey Mike's.

The First Tee in Pineville KY, The First Tee in Monmouth County, NJ is where our journey took us next. On to The Greenbrier Classic at one of my favorite places. Big turnout and it is always a big thrill to appear with the best players in the world. We had a great place to park our Newmar motorhome right near the course. The motorhome is totally accessible which makes life so much easier for me. The lift that helps me enter the motorhome is a life saver. Thanks to Dick Parks and Mathew Miller for all there support of our program as the motorhome is our home for 6 months a year and is the only way we could ever hope to make all our commitments.

April, May, June and July have now flown by and we have four more weeks until our 10 day break the first part of September. We always build this break into our schedule and it gives us a little time off before we finish the majority of tour in the fall. Off we go to our next stops, see you on down the road.
